Italian design influence in today's market

Italian sports cars; rich in history, shrouded in veils of excellence, and priced for those solely of affluence. One would be hard pressed to find a single human being that would scoff at the idea of driving one. Sadly, this dream eludes most of us since our lives must continue sans the fine hum of Italian horsepower. Though this is not to say, in some small part many of us today enjoy lucid reminisces of the legacies left behind by the greatness of those like Enzo Ferrari.

Cars like that of the Lamborghini Aventador, and Ferrari 548 are indeed works of art. Exhaust notes hum like music, suspensions handle cornering with laser precision, all with enough speed to stock a Costco. From top to bottom each in their own right are perfect machines thus rightly so, reserved for the privileged.

You may not own one of these supercar exotics, but with the help of companies like Vision Autodynamics and our VFiber line of products. We can incorporate some of the styling cues into our own cars. Be it a Honda, Subaru, Scion, or Mitsubishi; today’s aftermarket owes a part of its lineage of design. Down to the carbon fiber hoods, which can also be found on our exotic counterparts (in most cases the entire body). Let us take a moment to show case some of the designs that lent itself to the styling upgrades found in today’s line up of parts, and how we came about our design concepts.

Starting with our GTR line of fenders available for cars such as the Celica, Charger, Mustang, and Neon; these fenders utilize vents strategically placed to extract heat from the wheel well areas. At first glance, the impression would be that of a styling upgrade more than performance. However with heat extracting properties, the GTR fenders (much like other styles such as F1 Fenders, X1 Fenders, and SLR Fenders) allows for the breaks to cool at a higher rate, thus yielding better breaking performance from the rotors and pads. This effect, was realized by models such as the earlier Ferrari 550 Maranello.

Carbon fiber hoods and carbon Kevlar hoods, are among the most sought after upgrades on any tuner’s wish list. These hoods look the part with interlocking weaves of black and grey hues nestled under a layer of clear resin. Although typically painted on high end vehicles, most of those who purchase a VFiber carbon hood opt to leave it unpainted showcasing the glossy finish and carbon fiber weaves. Performance comes mainly in the way of weight reduction since carbon fiber or kevlar hoods typically weigh only a fraction of their steel or aluminum counterparts. The addition of vents also allow for heat reduction or ram air induction, allowing cooler air into engine bays increasing performance and assisting in the cooling tasks performed by the car’s radiator, and intercooler. Other carbon offerings include carbon fiber trunks and carbon fiber roofs; for added cohesiveness in aesthetics.

Vehicle aerodynamics serves multiple functions; Lamborghini and Ferrari cars rely on aerodynamics to reduce drag and gain ram air induction, both netting higher performance yields. These same principals have been factored into each body kit, bumper, side skirts, and wing VFiber offers. Each vent and grill as innocuous as they may seem were carefully inserted for ideal aesthetics and performance.

Vision Autodynamics strives to produce today’s best products with cutting edge designs. We pay homage to the heritage and spirit of the greats such as Ferruccio Lamborghini and Enzo Ferrari. And we praise the efforts of our fellow enthusiasts and drift racers alike.
